Anes – Painter & Creator of Resurgism
Born near the Danube in Romania, Anes discovered her passion for art at the age of 15. Growing up amidst the rich cultural tapestry of her homeland, she moved from the Danube region to Bucharest, where her creative spirit flourished. Early on, she immersed herself in theater and developed a deep appreciation for poetry—both of which shaped her artistic sensibilities. Later, she built a long and successful career in interior architecture and design, channeling her creative vision into transforming spaces with beauty and function.
A few years ago, at the age of 72, Anes embarked on a bold new adventure by moving to Michigan. Now retired, she has rekindled her lifelong passion for painting—a medium that, for her, is the purest form of expressing the beauty and emotions of life. With every brushstroke, she transforms her canvas into a vibrant paradise, where art becomes both the joy and the storm of existence. Reflecting on her journey, she often says, “Timpul este un zvon de legendă, Timpul este fără vârstă”—time is but a legendary whisper, ageless and eternal.
In her renewed artistic journey, Anes has conceived a humble yet innovative movement she calls Resurgism. This movement embodies the rediscovery of old passions in later life—a celebration of the wisdom and vibrancy that come with age. Through Resurgism, she channels her childhood wonder—the mystery of the forest, the lush green of spring, the golden hues of autumn, and the vast, inspiring patch of sky that cradled the sun, moon, and stars—into every piece of art she creates.
